To enhance tourism and foster an appealing atmosphere for investment in the tourism sector, the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) officially declared the establishment of a Tourism Committee on Friday.
According to the official announcement, Director General GDA, Dawood Khan Khilji formed the committee which will be led by the Director of Administration of GDA, with additional members comprising the Director of Administration, Director of Planning, and others.
The Tourism Committee will take into account the evolving demands of tourism and will assess various stakeholders’ perspectives and observations. It will work towards achieving the objectives of practical wisdom for the development of regional tourism. It will form a new strategy that will help create employment opportunities in the tourism sector.
The GDA has approved a comprehensive tourism policy for Gwadar, recognizing its global and natural tourism significance. The policy focuses on local and private partnerships, and ease of doing business, and emphasizes innovation and sustainability to enhance service quality and safeguard tourist rights. Similarly, promoting the tourism sector is also aimed at creating employment opportunities.
As per GDA, its formulated tourism policy is in line with international trends and approaches. The Tourism Committee, under this policy, will conduct a comprehensive study, including the establishment of a tourism wing, assessment of human resources, and evaluation of potential tourist sites in Gwadar as per the master plan.
